Tressel OSU start Classic (Yahoo!)

Since 2001, Ohio State University football coach Jim Tressel was no stranger to the stage of recruitment of Florida.

Tressel, 58, combined travel with pleasure Monday evening at the Hotel Crowne Plaza Tower in Fort Myers, addressing a banquet in Lee County high school football players-filled room the cheerleaders, parents and coaches.

The 22nd annual John Carrigan Rotary of the All - Star Classic begins at 7 a.m. Wednesday at the stage of high school in Fort Myers Edison.

"In my career as a coach, he has always been exceptional," Tressel says the level of talent in the region. Tressel visited Monday with Barron Collier senior tight end Jeff Heuerman, who has orally committed to play for the Buckeyes.

"In 1981, I began recruiting from the West side of the State of Florida, when I was an assistant at Syracuse," Tressel said. "I've been recruited it since." "Some of our great players, some of the best that we have always had played in Florida high school football.

Tressel put Brian Rolle, a graduate school Immokalee 2006, among them. Senior linebacker will begin in the bowl of sugar at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans on January 4, when Ohio State (11-1) takes on Arkansas (10-2).

"I think Brian Rolle will be one of those guys that some measurable achievements (Rolle is listed just 5-foot-11, 218 pounds), there may be persons who may question its future in the NFL" Tressel said. "" "" But studying film, people who are good teams, they see the kind of soccer player, he is. So I think it has a bright future. It will be on the list in 2011. »

Tressel might have up to three seasons more leader first year university coach Carlos Hyde, a top Naples 2009 graduate who is listed at 6 feet, pounds 238 and parts almost exclusively on special teams - for the moment.

"It comes along," said Tressel. "It is a guy that we will have done great things." It may be one of these large, powerful Ohio State back before all is said and done. »

Tressel took note of the array changes throughout the college coaching landscape in among the "big three" - State of Florida, Florida and Miami, Florida with two schools last names new coaches during the weekend. Coach of the State of Florida Jimbo Fisher is finishing its first season.

"What is interesting, is about 18 months ago, Jimbo Fisher simply ready to resume," Tressel said. "He was going to be the new kid on the block." It is now the senior citizen. Dizzying mind what has happened in a period of 18 months. »

Fisher, 45, was accompanied in the brotherhood Will Muschamp 39, Florida and Al Golden, 41, in Miami.

"This is a very difficult profession, there is no doubt that" Tressel said. "It will shock you when there are changes." ... Sometimes you're the guy who gets heading in the right direction, but you don't always get to reap the benefits. But I know Al Golden, and it is remarkable. It is a handsome young man. He has wonderful things at the temple. I think he has the right angle on the game of football.

"I know Muschamp well." But Florida is a wonderful place, the University of Florida is sure to have good players. I'm sure will it y and try to preach consistency. He has very good players and I'm sure he'll do a good job. »
